This tutorial has been written for PSP7 but will work in PSP6 . It is a very easy method for making a realistic Easter egg. I have written it assuming a rudimentary knowledge of PSP so there are lots of images. I hope it is clear and I didn't miss anything but please e-mail me if you need help. There are no "silly" questions.*smile*
1. Open a new image, 300 by 300 with a transparent background. Name this first layer "egg". Using the selection tool set to "ellipse" (thanks Jana *smile*) make an oval in the middle of the image. Leaving the "marching ants" active, flood fill with a light color of your choice. I used white for this tut.
|
2.Make another raster layer and name it "bubble". Place your bubble tube on this layer in the middle of your oval. If you need a bubble tube I have one zipped for download download BUBBLE TUBE here

3. Now, using the deform tool drag the bubble out to meet all the edges of your "egg". Make sure you go just to the edges or you will be left with an outline of your egg along the edge.

4. Make a new raster layer and name it "tube". Move this layer underneath the bubble layer and above the egg layer. You can click and drag it there on the palette window or you can go up to "layers" and click on "arrange" and move it from there.

5. This is the layer where you will decorate your egg, either with a tube or another image or coloring of your choice. When you are done decorating your egg you will adjust the opacity of your bubble layer. You do this in the palette window. On the right side of the box there are little bars for each layer. They are between the "100" and "normal". Just click and drag the bar to the left until it reaches the opacity you want. I chose 60% for mine but this may vary depending on how you decorated and what colors you used. Just play with it until you are happy with the way it looks. *smile*

6. Now you only need to display your egg. I am sure you can come up with something great...OR you can continue on to the next tutorial. It is for a cute little wagon being pulled by a chick. Perfect to put your egg in. *GRIN* If you decide to try the wagon tutorial, save your egg image with a transparent background as a psp file and minimize it for now. We will come back to it.
