Okay, so you have decided to have a go at this tutorial too. I am so glad ! *grin* This tutorial has been written for PSP7 but will work in PSP6 . I have written it assuming a rudimentary knowledge of PSP so there are lots of images. I hope it is clear and I didn't miss anything but please e-mail me if you need help. There are no "silly" questions.*smile*
First things first. This seems like a long tutorial but I have included a lot of images and it is easier than it looks but there are a fair number of steps so it will be a good idea to save often ! Also because it is a bit long and has lots of images I have done two pages so it doesn't take so long to load.
1. Open a new image, 400 by 300 with a transparent background. Name this first layer "background". Flood fill it with a dark grey. Over on your color palette chose no fill, and white stroke.Make a new raster layer and call it "wheel". Now use your preset tool with the settings shown in the image below to draw your wheel. Do this to the right of your image.
2.We will draw the spokes on the same layer as the wheel. Use your draw tool with the setting shown in the image below.
3. Make a new raster layer and call it "handle". Using your draw tool at the settings shown in the image below we are going to draw a bezier line.Don't panic, lol, it is not too hard. Now would be a good time to save. Draw a line at a slight angle up from the wheel.Click up about 35-40 pixels from the tip of your line. Move back towards the wheel about 40 pixels and click again.
4. Now go back to your wheel layer, use your magic wand to select the wheel and spokes and either use the wood fill of your choice or apply a filter such as Blade Pro for a metal finish. I chose a wood fill for mine.If you use a wood fill when you have filled it leave the wheel selected. You will want to apply an inner bevel. Go to "Effects" then "3D Effects" and chose inner bevel I used the settings in the image below. You may have to play with it a bit depending on the fill you used. Next you will go to the handle layer and apply the same fill and bevel settings.
5. Go back to the "wheel " layer and duplicate it.(Right click on highlighted layer on the palette window and chose "duplicate"). Do the same thing with your "handle" layer.Position the duplicate images slightly in front of the original images.

Now on to Page Two
